OK, I T-O-T-A-L-L-Y fell in love with this movie, the MOMENT I stepped out of the theatre. I mean, I COMPLETELY fell for the whole alternate reality concepts and the freedom of the mind, etc etc. Many people have called Bullshit on all the philosophical parallels and "Life of Jesus" analogies the movie has spawned (in addition to ACTUAL university courses dedicated to its storyline), but I challenge all of that. What defines an actual GROUND BREAKING movie? They say mimickery in the sincerest form of flattery and this movie, its story line, its techniques, it film style were copied for the past half-decade and are still being referenced. This movie re-defined how some movies are being shot. If I could give it MORE than 4 stars, I would. Top Ten on my lists, always will be. Papa Mikey!

Couldn't agree more. Blew my mind.

Agree on all accounts. The effects were groundbreaking at the time. And I believe it beat the new Star Wars movie for the Oscar for special effects. This was the first movie I bought on DVD.

Wow! We all agree! Loved it at the time (am sick of all the rip-offs, etc..) Too bad it starred Keanu though. "Dude, let's not do this. I don't know you man!" (Keanu, from 'Speed')

You should have seen him as the drug addict in "I love you to death"

forgot my rating..... | ||

Just did a rewatch after not seeing it in years....forgot about much of it. Still fantastic, but my one little squabble has always been the 'I love you therefore you MUST be The One!" ending. Still uber-cool though.
