A charming small film, set in 1980's England in a seniors residence. Michael Caine plays a dying man with dementia, who reluctantly comes to live in the home. The movie focuses on the relationship between Caine, who has lived a life of regret, and Edward the young boy, son of the home's proprietors.

It's not a great film, but it has a quiet dignity, and says much about the strains and pain of life, and ultimately, death.

Moreover, it has provided me with an epitaph: "Here lies [Jeffery Nerenberg]: He was born, he fucked it up, and he died."
