ZOMFGLOLLL!!

WHERE did THIS movie come from??!

Needed to pass an afternoon with the kids and their respective play-dates, so I took them all to my new fave dive: the Rainbow Theatre. Was expecting to coast through this film half-asleep but instead found myself LITERALLY LOL'ing. The BOY, too!

How to describe it?

Surreal comes to mind...Monty-Pythonesque? Mmmm, maybe not...it basically throws 10,000,000 jokes at the screen and about 1/2 of them stick...the other half I'd need to re-watch to catch.

Kinda like "Robot Chicken" for kids....??!

I dunno if this was THAT good or I just went in with UBER-low expectations but I highly recommend the film and would love someone to see it, too to tell me I'm not crazy (or sleep-deprived (or BOTH))

Got 88% on the Tomato Meter!

Ka-Chunk!

I WANT a castle made of Jell-O...I think I've literally HAD this dream before.....

Note:

Me'n the BOY were basically the ONLY people laughing in the whole theatre...I think the majority of the rather-surreal jokes went WAAAAAAAAAAAAY over the heads of the slack-jawed troglodyte patrons/soccer moms in attendance who probably just summed the movie up as "weird".

I can understand it not being funny for kids under 7, too as the humour/jokes were too fast-paced and sophisticated.

But the animation was astounding...not the characters, which were purposefully crudely drawn but it was side-things that I noticed: water effects, the aforementioned Jell-O castle...it was like the animators were showing off.

Still stunned by this film....LOL! Who woulda thunk it??!

And to TOP it off, there's a MONKEY in it...!!

And his name is STEVE!! LLLOLLL!

Hmmmm...I was uber-stoked to see this when it came out, mostly because of the title, then initial reviews came in and the consensus was 'meh', and my interest waned...then I forgot about it. Perhaps a rental is in order...

I'll take one for the team and watch it so Mikey can see what someone else thinks. OY! Life is tough sometimes.

Did a RE-watch with the family...the BOY and I laughed AS MUCH as in the theatre...the GIRL, well not so much and the WIFE not at all.

I stand by my rating.
