Mitch & i are heading out to se this tomorrow night. Very anxious for this one. Cast looks great and visually it looks great. Havn't heard ANYTHING about it. Trying to go in cold.

I hope it's about a D.J.

Considering the star power in this movie, the release date for this is awfully suspicious. This time of year is a real dead zone for good movies. Moreover, releasing it on the day the Olympics open also does not bode well. i.e., if the studios thought it was worth something, they would release it at a better time of year, and not when it is competing with a hugely popular event such as the Olympics. (Not withstanding Mitch's hatred for the games.)

So, while I agree that the trailers look intriguing for the type of movie it is, my prediction: way less than a 50% on the tomatometer. (Actually, I just checked, it stands at 50%.)

Same goes for Shutter Island. Since when is a Scorsese movie relegated to a February release? In the middle of the Olympics no less. It must be shite. (Although that being said, the three reviews posted to Rotten Tomatoes are all positive... hmmm very interesting...)

I shoulda been a movie exec! Then I could have lived the Frank "I want to punch this guy in the head because he's such an annoying twerp" Whaley life in "Swimming with Sharks". (Now THAT was crap!)

Well, Ebert gives it a marginal thumbs up (2.5 stars). Not bad.

On the other hand he did give Crystal Skull four bleedin' stars!

Although the Tomato Meter is down to 32%!

Just saw that too. 32% is not making me wanna rush out.

As for Mr Ebert, after Crystal Skull, I just can't take him seriously anymore.

It was a weird review...his TEXT eludes to it being a decent enough film and his one major problem (AS USUAL) is its overuse of CGI and making the Wolfman "too fast"...he then gives it a rather enemic 2.5 stars.

Whereas he RIPS A STRIP off of "Valentine's Day" (currently 11% on Tomatometer) and gives THAT 2 stars...

Then again, he has publically expressed his disgust in his own star-system.

I myself will most likely be seing Percy Jackson, having a 10 year old boy...if you haven't heard of this character/book, it's kind of a big thing in the Tween-boy subba-cultcha.

The day Carbonneau was fired was the saddest day of my life, but I love this new style of the post-Gainey era. There are three steps that need to be followed to bring home the cup. 1. Play Halak as much as possible. 2. Bring up as many players as possible from Hamilton. 3. Move on to Gainey's successor. This week it all finally fell into place, and the results speak for themselves.

Not bad, not great. The story builds nicely and there's plenty of the usual foggy marshes, eccentric locals, gypsy curses, etc... but to me, Del Toro seemed out of place and underwhelming in the lead, particularly when sharing screen time with Hopkins. The centerpiece of course was the make-up/CGI/FX, which delivered the goods when called upon (quite a bit of gore too). Overall fairly entertaining, but easily forgettable the next day. I still think 'An American Werewolf In London' still holds more mustard to this day.

I had very low expectations (due to a co-worker of mine who HATED this movie). That being said, I enjoyed it to an extent and it was much better than I was expecting. Overall it was ok, but as Mitch said, it is also forgettable.
