Hokay!
So it's Saturday evening...Hockey Night In Canada coming on. First round of the Playoffs. Darrell's sitting on his comfy sofa all set for a long night of "switching off" and watching a few games.
Enter left stage: The mrs comes over and says 'why don't we watch a movie tonight...nothing with Zombies...one of MY kind of movies".
sigh. I text Mitch at this point to tell him and his response was "have fun watching 10 Brokeback Things i Hate About you".

Well Anat chose this movie and honestly, we both L O V E D it! For real!

Spectacular on every level (as far as these type of movies go). I LOL'd, I cried (a little) it really was a great story told very well, played by some very capable actors and just had a little bit of everything.

***********SPOILERS***********
There is a bit of a twist at the end which I did not see coming (nor did Anat) and when it happend I actually said "OMG, OMG, OMG!!!" Was so good to get blind sided that way.
************End of spoilers*******

Gosling too is such a good actor and at some point will have an oscar coming his way. He brought so much to his character that I really don't think most actors could pull off.

I also think Carrell is under rated as an actor as well. He did a solid job here and did not seem out of place along the likes of Gosling, Tomei and Moore.

Compelling story and well worth the watch.
Again, in this realm of movies I can't think of too many I liked better (Notebook and How to lose a guy in 10 days come to mind).

Oh, the Hollywood system...

Let's see: we'll write a sophomoric script, drive a dump truck full of money up to the homes of a bunch of A-listers, let them phone in their performances, and we'll still make a fortune, because most people are morons and will fork over their hard-earned money to watch!

Sorry Deril, I love and respect you. And we missed you dearly last weekend at "Missionary Manos, 2012". But this movie was just outright stupid, ridiculous drivel!

Yes, there were a few good moments. Yes, the movie is just crawling with gorgeous people. And so, yes, it was easy on the eyes. But man oh man was it lame. The story was paper thin. The script had holes the size of my ass throughout. Oi!

For the record, my favorite part of this movie was any scene with Marisa Tomei in it. OMG. The hawtest thing on the screen. Just not enough of her.

"Missionary Manos" <-- COMEDY GOLD!!!!!

I was embarassingly LOL'ing in my cubicle!

I love reading Jeff's scathing reviews as much as Ebert's 0-star reviews....AWESOME!!

Wow. it's all I can say.
I understand how you (and many others) wouldn't like it but 1.5 seems harsh.
I really liked it, for whateer reason and thought all the A-listers really brough "it" (given the roles they were asked to play).
I'm glad to know I was missed @ Beautiful!!
