Synopsis

Veteran slashers Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees join forces in this combination sequel to the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and FRIDAY THE 13TH series. Just awful. Ugh. Pointless. Waste of film. I was never really a fan of either franchise. I probably rented it because nothing else was available. The production standards were pretty good for a gore flick, but nothing original to be seen. I guess they just gave the fans what they wanted: Lots and lots of blood. Wasn't sure if I should categorize this as horror or comedy, cuz I was laughing at it in disbelief the whole time!

Now now.

The movie was pretty hokey, but contained lots of little Easter Eggs for fans of both series. Trouble is, I watched it such a long time ago I can't recall a single example. I remember spotting them, though...like wee nods to the camera by a director savvy with the Jason/Freddy lore (as it were).

But both characters are getting tired now (litterally and figuratively), I mean why fight a creature that's just going to pop alive again in the next film? It's like, Oh, they've managed to "kill" Freddy......A-GAIN. Nope, wait, he's alive A-GAIN.

Anyways, I enjoyed it for a cheap rental...

Like Mike, I saw this a while back in the theatre and I remember liking it a great deal. At the end of the day, you need to take it a face value for what it is (a stupid horror flick). That being said, this movie was made with the sole purpose to target a specific audience and I think I was it. I will most likely go see Freddy Vs. Jason 2 - This time it's for money!
